Durta Secures Second Straight CACC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
 
New Haven, Conn. – (10/16/2018) – For the second straight week, Chestnut Hill College junior midfielder Pedro Dutra (Passos, Brazil) was recognized on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Soccer Honor Roll. Dutra totaled five points (2 goals, 1 assist) in the Griffins’ 4-2 win at Nyack College on Saturday, October 13, after recording a team-high five shots in a 1-0 loss to Goldey-Beacom College on Tuesday, October 9. This is Dutra’s third CACC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll mention this year as he received the honor last week (10/9) and on September 10.
 
Chestnut Hill College (6-8, 5-5) and Goldey-Beacom College (4-9-1, 3-5-1) went toe-to-toe at Victory Field #1 on Tuesday night. After a scoreless first half, the Lightning capitalized off of a deflection in the box to defeat the Griffins by a 1-0 measure. Dutra led Chestnut Hill College with five shots, followed by three shots apiece from junior defenseman Andrew Johnstone (Liverpool, England), senior midfielder Tales Domingues (Sao Paulo, Brazil), and senior forward Jason Doherty (Letterkenny, Ireland). Sophomore defender Matt Kehr (Exton, Pa.) recorded two shots, while junior midfielder Mo Ehmer (Surrey, England) and senior forward Jason Burns (Reading, Pa.) all finished with one shot. Junior goalkeeper Frank Maniscalco (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a six saves performance in the loss (2-3).
 
An action packed first half catapulted Chestnut Hill College to a 4-2 victory over Nyack College in Saturday's contest. Dutra led the Griffins’ with two of their three first half goals; scoring his first to tie the game, 1-1, at 14:17, and his second to give the Scarlet and Gold a 3-1 lead at 18:59. Dutra further helped Chestnut Hill College protect their lead late in the second half as he located sophomore forward Miguel Marra (Ossining, N.Y) for a fourth Griffin goal at 89:45. Dutra took three shots to record his two goals. He now has a dozen (12) points with five goals and a pair (2) of assists.
