New Haven, CT – (3/31/2010) – Senior midfielder Carley Glass (Swedesboro, NJ) became the fourth Griffin to eclipse the 100 career-goal milestone, doing so with her second goal against Dominican College on March 27. She totaled five goals and three assists in the affair and was recognized with her second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) honorable mention among the conference’s weekly award winners.
Glass totaled eight points with five goals and three assists against Dominican College. Additionally she collected three ground balls, two draws, and caused two turnovers. Glass’ second goal of the contest made her the fourth Griffin to reach the 100 career goal plateau. Unfortunately the Lady Chargers scored the game-winner with 19 seconds remaining to defeat the Griffins 13-12.
This season, Glass leads Chestnut Hill College (2-3, 1-2) in assists (7), and points (21) while sharing the team-lead in caused turnovers (10). Glass led the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II in points-per-game (6.35) last year while also finishing among the top 30 nationally in four other categories; 13th in goals/game (3.65), 4th in assists/game (2.71), 29th in caused turnovers/game (1.59), and 24th in draw controls/game (2.82). She was recognized at season’s end by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a First Team All-Conference selection. Glass is also the programs all-time leader in assists (87).
The women’s lacrosse team will host Dowling College on Thursday, April 1 for their next contest. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start at the Plymouth Whitemarsh Football Stadium.
