North Wales, PA – (4/17/2010) – Junior first baseman Mike Knipe (Sellersville, PA) cracked a two-run homerun to lead Chestnut Hill College to a 5-4 walk-off victory in the opener of this afternoon's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader with Felician College. The Golden Falcons overpowered the Griffins 9-1 in game two, to split the twin bill. Sophomore centerfielder Eric Blood (Perkasie, PA) recorded three hits and two stolen bases to lead the Griffins in game two.

Junior catcher Bryan Henry (Columbus, NJ) led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a single through the right side. He then stole second base before reaching third base on a sacrifice bunt from junior shortstop George Kochu (Pottstown, PA). With Henry 90 feet away, Knipe won the contest with a two-run, walk-off homerun; his first of the season. Knipe and Henry each had two hits for Chestnut Hill College (12-14, 9-5). Junior pitcher Matt Casino (Port Chester, NY) collected the win (2-1) with a one-hit ninth inning. He allowed an unearned run.

Homeruns for freshman left fielder Joe Petosa (Spotswood, NJ) and senior centerfielder Jeff Calabrese (Freehold, NJ) powered Felician College (22-18, 10-4) to a lopsided victory in game two. Petosa's solo-homer put the Golden Falcons up 1-0 in the second inning and they added three more runs in their next two at-bats to lead the Griffins 4-0 heading to the fifth inning. Junior third baseman D.J. Santoro Jr. (Jeffersonville, PA) reached on a beanball to lead off the bottom of the frame. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and continued to third base on a Blood single. Blood then swiped second base to put two Griffins in scoring position. Sophomore Alex Latchum (Warrington, PA) delivered one run with a single to centerfield, but junior pitcher Joel Sanchez (Hialeah, FL) retired the next two Griffins before eventually earning the win for Felician College. He allowed one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in seven innings. Junior pitcher Chris Lauber (Morton, PA) took the loss (2-3) for the Griffins.

The baseball team remains home to host East Stroudsburg University in a 4:00 p.m. doubleheader on Monday, April 19.
