Philadelphia, PA – (11/1/2011) – The 2011 regular season came to a close with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) loss at cross-town rival, Holy Family University. Despite the loss, Chestnut Hill College will enjoy their first appearance in the CACC Championship Tournament, as they earned the right to face CACC North Division leader, Caldwell College as the #4 seed in the CACC South Division.
Chestnut Hill College (13-18, 8-11) opened the match with their best set of the evening, hitting .333 (9K-1E-24TA) as a team, but still falling to Holy Family University (23-10, 18-1) 25-19. The Griffins were close again in the second set, but the Tigers still took a 2-0 lead with a 25-21 win. They closed the match with a 25-15 win in the third set. The Tigers were led by senior outside hitter Alyssa Keihl (Pewaukee, WI), who supplied 11 points on seven kills, three aces, and two blocks. She was supported by 33 assists and ten digs from sophomore setter Chelsea Keegan (Bucyrus, OH) and nine kills from sophomore middle blocker Sarah Ambach (Springboro, OH).

Alex DePalma (Shillington, PA), who totaled 8.5 points on seven kills, an ace, eight digs, and a block. Junior middle hitter
Cassie Benson (Rosamond, CA) contributed six kills and two blocks. Junior setter
Courtney Gallo (Wilmington, DE) directed the offense with 14 assists while junior libero
Liz DiGregorio (Conshohocken, PA) captained the defense with eight digs.
The women's volleyball team finishes the 2011 season with a 13-18 overall mark and an 8-11 standing in the CACC; their best records since the College elevated to a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II institution in 2007.
