West Chester, Pa. – (10/14/2013) – Chestnut Hill College closed their 2013 fall schedule with a six-match win streak after claiming a 9-0 victory in today's competition at West Chester University. After defeating the Golden Rams the Griffins stand at 12-1 overall and have only Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament matches remaining on the fall docket.
Chestnut Hill College (12-1) claimed the top two team flights by 8-1 finals, before junior
Morgan Oechsle (Coopersburg, Pa.) and sophomore
Hayley Craskey (Aston, Pa.) completed the sweep of doubles play with their 8-5 triumph at number three. The Griffins continued their dominance of West Chester University (1-4) with wins all the way down the singles lineup. Senior
Kelly Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio) was the first Griffin to finish their individual match with her 6-0, 6-1 win at number four singles. The second and sixth flights were next to conclude as sophomores
Iman Williams-Mulesa (Pickering, Ontario) and
Axe Owens (Trenton, N.J.) earned the Griffins points on wins of 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-2, respectively. To complete the Griffins seventh shutout of the season, Oechsle, freshman
Marie Deleval (Grimaud, France), and junior
Charlotte Dawson (Odessa, Texas) won flights five, three, and one, in that order.
The women's tennis team prepares now for the CACC Championship Tournament, which will be held on the Chestnut Hill College Tennis Courts on Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20.
