Indianapolis, Ind. – (4/24/2013) – Temporarily enjoying the fruits of their labor, the Chestnut Hill College men's and women's tennis teams both received seeding for the upcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II Tennis Championships in last night's
NCAA.com Selection Shows. The Griffin women will experience NCAA postseason play for their second consecutive year, earning the region's #5 seed and the right to visit #4 Stonehill College for a match on Saturday, April 27, while the men make their first NCAA Championship Tournament as the region's #6 seed. They will travel to #3 Merrimack College for a match on Sunday, April 28.

The Chestnut Hill College (16-8, 5-1) men went 2-1 on their February trip to Tampa, Florida, 6-2 in the month of March, and 5-3 in April to improve a 3-2 fall standing to their current 16-8 record. En route to finishing as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournament Runner-Up, the Griffins prepared with matches against each of the NCAA DII East Region's Elite; #7 Southern New Hampshire University, win 6-3 on March 9, #4 the University of the District of Columbia, loss 6-3 on March 24, #5 Queens College, loss 6-3 on March 30, #1 Concordia College (NY), loss 9-0 on April 10, and #2 the New York Institute of Technology, loss 5-4 on April 14.

NCAA DII Men's Tennis East Region 2 Bracket
The Chestnut Hill College (18-8) women have only lost two matches since returning from their Florida spring trip. The Griffins defeated Drew University 9-0 on February 18 and then proceeded to go 2-2 in Florida before returning to campus for a highly-competitive stretch of matches that included contests against #31 the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 7-2 loss on March 16, and #36 Queens College, 5-4 loss on March 30. Despite the two losses, the Griffin won the remainder of their spring matches to currently sit at 18-8 with a #50 ITA National Ranking.
