Emily Koehler (Bath, Pa.) was the Griffins' top scorer with nine points on eight kills and two block assists; she hit .389 (8K-1E-18TA) as the team's only hitter with a positive percentage.
Philadelphia University (20-5, 11-2) established control early, as freshman outside hitter Courtney Wensel (Bechtelsville, Pa.) helped separate the Lady Rams from a slow start, 4-3, for an opening 25-9 win. But Chestnut Hill College (11-20, 10-8) fought back in grand style, rallying from a 10-8 deficit to beat the Lady Rams to a 25-21 final in the second set. The third set was destined to determine the evening's outcome, unfortunately, the Lady Rams were able to regain their composure, defeating the Griffins with wins of 25-19 and 25-9 in the third and fourth sets, respectively.
Wensel and senior middle hitter Chelsea Hughes (Wading River, N.Y.) were the Lady Rams top performers with 14 kills apiece. Wensel paired her strikes with an assist, an ace, ten digs, and two blocks, while Hughes matched her offensive performance with an equally impressive defensive effort that produced four digs and six blocks. Senior setter Nina Morvin (Willow Grove, Pa.) offered 37 assists, four aces, and seven digs, meanwhile junior defensive specialist Michele Chai (Sinking Spring, Pa.) totaled a kill, an assist, two aces, and 21 digs.
Koehler's eight kills were supported with four kills apiece from freshman setter
Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.), junior outside hitter
Madison McBride (Long Beach, Calif.), and senior outside hitter

The women's volleyball team's postseason fate will be decided on Thursday, November 12, when they host Holy Family University in a 7:00 p.m. CACC contest; prior to which the Chestnut Hill College Department of Athletics will recognize the Griffins' senior class in annual honorary proceedings.
