Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Bel Air, Md. - (3/16/2015) – Relocated to the Harford Community College Sports Complex in Bel Air, Maryland, Chestnut Hill College and Nyack College opened their respective Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) seasons with a pair of closely played contests. Junior left fielder Brendan Looby (Sewell, N.J.) completed a comeback victory (W, 5-4) with a walk-off single to left center field in game one, while game two saw junior pitcher Zachary Crim (Horsham, Pa.) throw a five-hit, complete game shutout for his first win of the season (1-1).

Crim had it all working in the second game of the league twin bill as he struck out seven while only tossing 96 pitches in his complete game effort. He was nearly matched pitch-for-pitch by Nyack College (2-11, 0-2) senior Cole Tobin (Dover, N.H.), who stayed with Crim for five innings before the wheels fell off. In the Chestnut Hill College (5-2, 2-0) sixth, a lead-off walk to senior shortstop Preston Koehler (Bath, Pa.) started the Warriors' downward spiral that included four errors, five hits, and four runs over the final three frames, 4-0. Koehler was 2-for-3 with a run and a run-batted-in (RBI) off singles in the third and seventh innings and a walk in the sixth.

The Griffins scored the first run of game one on Koehler's second-inning home run, his first of the season, 1-0. The Warriors stole the advantage in the top of the sixth with an error in left field and an errant throw from behind the plate allowing Nyack College to score a pair of runs, 2-1. A sacrifice fly from sophomore center fielder Brandon DiBona (Southampton, Pa.) knotted the game up in the bottom of the seventh inning, 2-2, but again the Warriors seized the upper hand with a single to right field from senior right fielder Brent James (Seligman, Ariz.) bringing home two runs and reestablishing the deficit at 4-2. Fortunately, the late-inning heroics continued for Chestnut Hill College, who first knotted the contest, 4-4, on an eighth-inning, two-run home run from senior right fielder Michael McLaughlin (Philadelphia, Pa.), the first of his collegiate career, and Looby's walk-off liner to left centerfield, 5-4. Senior pitcher Dominic Raia III (Philadelphia, Pa.) offered the Griffins another quality start as he struck out 11 in 7.2 innings while only allowing one earned run on seven hits and three walks in a no decision effort.

Weather permitting, the baseball team hopes to continue their CACC schedule at Latshaw-McCarthy Field on Wednesday, March 18, when they are scheduled to host the University of the Sciences (USciences) in a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader.
