Box Score Shippensburg, Pa. - (3/17/2015) – The second half continued to be a recent bugaboo for Chestnut Hill College, who were outscored in a third straight second half in today's 11-7 loss at Shippensburg University. The Griffins held a narrow 5-4 lead at halftime, but six consecutive Raider goals in the final 20 minutes (20:24) separated the home side for the four-goal victory. Freshman attack

Julia Galantich (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) put Chestnut Hill College (2-2) in the driver's seat early, 2-0 at 19:26. Shippensburg University (2-3) got on the scoreboard a little more than two minutes later, 2-1 at 17:05, and as play approached the 13-minute mark (13:13) the Griffins reestablished their two-goal advantage on a connection between Herron and Leckonby, 3-1. The first half continued to see-saw back-and-forth as the Raider briefly knotted the game at 3-3 before trading goals with the Griffins to a 5-4 halftime spread. Herron gave the Griffins the edge at intermission, scoring her first goal of the affair with 17 seconds (0:17) remaining in the period.
She scored again at the start of the second half, recording a free position goal to boost the Griffins advantage to 6-4 at 28:30. An exchange of goals kept the Griffins ahead 7-5 with 25:36 left to play, but that is when things went sour for the pride. The Raiders rattled off the last six scores of the game en route to an 11-7 win.
Senior attacks Courtney Kennedy (Springfield, Pa.) and Sheila Johnson (Drexel Hill, Pa.) spearheaded the Raider effort. Kennedy supplied two goals, an assist, a ground ball, and a caused turnover while Johnson led the Raiders in shots and added a ground ball and a draw control to her two tallies. Junior goalkeeper Ally Frymoyer (King of Prussia, Pa.) recorded 14 saves and five ground balls in the win (2-3).
In addition to scoring her first two goals of the season, Herron also provided an assist, five ground balls, and two draw controls. Leckonby raised her rookie goal total to nine goals with her two tallies. She also recovered two ground balls and caused a turnover. Sophomore goalkeeper
Katie Joe Lang (Manassas, Va.) totaled a dozen saves and two ground balls in the loss (2-2).
The women's lacrosse team continues their non-conference schedule on Thursday, March 19, when they travel to Molloy College for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
