Four Women's Lacrosse Players Named to the IWLCA Academic honor Roll; team earms Academic Honor Squad for Third Straight Year

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Lacrosse Team along with four members of the 2025 squad were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's 2025 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad and Academic Honor Roll in an announcement by the organization on Wednesday.

The Griffins Women's Lacrosse team was among the 72 NCAA Division II schools that were selected as a 2025 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.  To qualify for this honor the team must have posted a 3.2 team g.p.a. for the academic year.  The Griffins had a team g.p.a. of 3.304 for the 2024-25 academic year.   

Chestnut Hill is also one  of  six teams from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to earn the honor this season.  This year's accolades also mark the third consecutive year and the sixth time overall that the Griffins have earned IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status having earned the award the past two seasons and for three straight years from 2017-2019.

In addition, four members of the Griffins women's lacrosse team were named to the 2025 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.  The four Griffins were among the 583 total Division II athletes honored

Named to the academic honor roll were graduate student Molly Killion; Seniors Erin McCarthy and Anna Sanverdine; and redshirt junior Angel'Lique Lockhart. Killion and Lockhart are earning the award for the second time.

Now is her first year of graduate school, pursing a master's degree in organizational leadership, Killion in early June, became the first athlete at Chestnut Hill College to earn  College Sports communicators Academic All-district Women's At-Large Team honors three consecutive seasons and the first in school history to earn Academic all-district honors five times (two for soccer and three for at-large/women's lacrosse). She graduated with honors in May 2024 with a degree in English Literature and Writing.  Killion was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society and Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student athlete honor society in 2023. As a former two-sport athlete she has earned CACC All-Academic team honors for both sports a total of six times (three soccer, three lacrosse).  Killion is also a two-time D2 Athletic Director's Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award winner.  As a freshman, Killion was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta, the first-year students honor society).

Lockhart is a forensic chemistry major and is senior academically.  She along with Killion and Sanverdine were selected to the CSC Academic All-district women's at-Large team earlier this spring.  Lockhart was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma in May of 2025.  She is also a two-time CACC Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team and was named to the CACC Academic Honor roll in each of the last four semesters.  Lockhart has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades multiple times during her career at the college.

Sanverdine is a psychology major who will graduate in December. She also earned CSC Academic all-district Women's At-Large honors earlier this spring.  Sanverdine is a two-time CACC all-Academic team honoree and has been named to the CACC Academic honor roll in each of the last four semesters. Sanverdine was inducted into Chi alpha sigma earlier this spring. She has earned Dean's list honors three times and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll four times while also playing two sports.  Anna has been a member of the women's soccer team for the past three seasons.   Sanverdine is also part of the Interdisciplinary Honors Program at Chestnut Hill.

McCarthy is a three-sport athlete who competed in cross country and track and field during the 2024-25 academic year and earned CACC All-Academic Team honors for all three sports, women's lacrosse, cross country and track and field during the 2024-25 academic year.  She also earned CSC  Academic all-district team honors for Track and field twice. Earlier this spring Erin was one of 33 Chestnut hill student-athletes inducted into Chi Alpha
Sigma.   An exercise science major McCarthy has earned Dean's List and CHC athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester while at Chestnut Hill.
