Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (10/7/2016) – Possibly a sign of success to come next spring season, the Chestnut Hill College concluded their fall schedule with today's 9-0 sweep of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, the University of the Sciences (USciences). The Griffins gained the upper hand in the non-conference clash with a 3-0 edge in doubles action. Their fortune followed to singles play where, recently named, CACC Rookie of the Month, freshman Antoine Gautier (Eysines, France) clinched the contest with a 6-2, 6-0, individual victory in the fifth flight.
 
The first Devil domino fell at number two doubles, where juniors, Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) and Lucas Bocaletto (Itatiba, Brazil) posted a 8-1 victory over their USciences (2-3) counterparts (1-0). Sophomore Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France) and junior Jonathan Ducretot (Antibes, France) were next to score for Chestnut Hill College (3-0), triumphantly securing the number one doubles match by an 8-4 margin (2-0). Sophomore Felix Andre (Berlin, Germany) and Gautier finished soon after, earning the point at number three doubles by the same 8-4 final (3-0).
 
Individual wins from Bocaletto and Gautier officially clinched the victory for the Scarlet Gold. Bocaletto was the first to add to the Griffins' advantage with his 6-2, 6-1, win at number six singles (4-0). Gautier provided the match-winner (5-0) just minutes later, dominating the fifth individual flight 6-2, 6-0. Collateral damage was dealt in the remaining singles flights as Chestnut Hill College completed their sweep of the Devils with wins at number one (2-6, 6-3, 6-0), number four (7-6 (7-4), 6-0), number three (6-2, 6-2), and number two (2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-8) singles.
 
The Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team will return to action in 2017 as they open their spring competition with their annual late-February trip to Florida.
