#1 Felician University (29-18, 16-4) captured the CACC Regular Season Championship with a 16-4 conference mark and as the tournament's top-seed will face #4 Philadelphia University (21-26, 11-9) in Thursday's first game at Wilson Field in New Castle, Delaware. The Golden Falcons placed nine student-athletes on the recently released All-CACC Team and swept the Rams in their regular season meeting on Saturday, April 16. In the opener, sophomore All-CACC First Team relief pitcher, Danny Naif (Jackson, N.J.) recorded a two-inning save (5) after seven innings of work from the eventual CACC Pitcher of the Year, junior right-hander Matt Blandino (Bristol, Conn.) (6-2). Meanwhile, a four-run first inning provided all the insurance needed for the Golden Falcons to claim a 5-3 victory. The second Golden Falcon win was not as close with junior third baseman J.R. Meneses (Lake Worth, Fla.) hitting for the cycle in a 14-3 final. Philadelphia University will challenge Felician University fresh off a 2-1 CACC Opening-Round win over #5 Nyack College on Saturday, May 7.

The second game of the baseball postseason marathon places #2 Chestnut Hill College (25-19, 14-6) against #6 Dominican College. The Chargers swept the regular season doubleheader on Wednesday, April 13, with dramatic one-run wins of 5-4 and 7-6 at Latshaw-McCarthy Field. Freshman third baseman Zach Szumigala (Fairless Hills, Pa.) recorded two hits in the opener while senior catcher Robert Slagle III (Lafayette Hill, Pa.), fellow All-CACC Second Teamer and senior left field Brendan Looby (Sewell, N.J.), and sophomore pinch hitter Demetrius Isaac (Philadelphia, Pa.) all record two runs-batted-in (RBI) in the nightcap.

Down 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning of game one, sophomore designated hitter Matthew Owens (Cherry Hill, N.J.) rallied Chestnut Hill College for the first of two runs with a lead-off double to left field. He reached home soon after on a one-out double to center field from freshman catcher Eric Gilham (Deptford, N.J.) (4-3), leaving Isaac to pinch run and score on a Szumigala triple, 4-4. The Chargers answered with the winning a run in top of the ninth inning after a lead-off walk senior first baseman Carlos Lopez (Miami, Fla.), a sacrifice bunt, a wild pitch, and a two-out pinch hit single, 5-4. Senior pitcher Zachary Crim (Horsham, Pa.) figured in a no decision despite holding the Chargers to three earned runs on 10 hits. He struck out two.

Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning of game two, Szumigala reached on a fielder's choice and moved to third base after junior shortstop Jonathan Baturgil (Freehold, N.J.) doubled to left field. Both scored a run on a double up the middle from Isaac to help the Griffins take a 6-4 lead. But the Chargers once again rallied in the top of the ninth inning, this time scoring three runs on a three singles, a Griffin error, and a sacrifice fly, 7-6. All-CACC Second Team sophomore pitcher Patrick Kelley (Pipersville, Pa.) also figured into a no decision despite holding the Chargers to two earned runs on nine hits and two walks. He struck out six. The Chargers reached the double-elimination round of the CACC Championship Tournament with their 3-1 triumph over defending conference champion, #3 Wilmington University, 3-1, on Sunday, May 8.

The losers of Thursday's first two games will then meet in a 3:00 p.m. elimination game. For the complete schedule and coverage of this week's CACC Baseball Championship please refer to the itinerary below;
