Chester, Pa. - (4/21/2017) – The Chestnut Hill College men's and women's track and field teams continued their 2017 season today, Friday, April 21, at the Widener University Invitational. Despite limited action on the first day of competition, the Griffins performed well. Freshman
Zigmund Fisher (Chadds Ford, Pa.) offered the Scarlet and Gold's top highlight with his 13
th (15:12.60) finish in the men's 5,000-meter run.
Fisher was joined in the distance run by fellow freshman
Jake DiCello (Pottsville, Pa.), who placed 49
th with his time of 18:00.96. Also of note, sophomore
Duncan Malone (Boston, Mass.) ranked 35
th in the Shot Put with his throw of 10.56 meters.
In the women's 5,000-meter, junior
Emily Bensen-Abatangelo (East Meadow, N.Y.) placed 49
th (20:41.94) for Chestnut Hill College. Senior
Morghan Green (Fountain Hill, Pa.) and sophomore
Samaria Turner (Coatesville, Pa.) both participated in the women's Shot Put; the former offering a top throw of 8.44 meters and the latter a maximum of 8.40 meters.
Chestnut Hill College men's and women's track and field teams continue competition at the Widener University Invitational tomorrow, Saturday, April 22, with a 10:00 a.m. 1,500-meter run.
