The United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced their NCAA Division II All-Academic Individual and Team honors with the Chestnut Hill College Women's and Men's Track and Field Teams designated as All-Academic Teams for the 2024-25 Track and Field season.
The two programs were under the direction of first-year head coach Ashley Johnson.
In order to earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative GPA (not 2024-25 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
The men's track and field team was one of 121 Division II programs to earn All-Academic status and one of just four institutions from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to earn All-Academic Team status. As a team, the Griffins posted a 3.233 cumulative team grade point average. The Griffins were also one of just nine teams from the division II East Region to earn all-academic Team honors.
The women's track team was one of 141 Division II programs to earn All-Academic status and also one of just four institutions from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference to earn All-Academic three Team status. As a team, the Griffins posted a 3.38 cumulative team grade point average, second highest among the CACC schools. In addition, Chestnut Hill was one of only 11 Division II East Region schools to earn All-Academic Team Status
This year's honors for the men's team marks just the third time in program history that the team has earned USTFCCCA all-Academic Team accolades, having earned the award following the 2017-18 and 2022-23 seasons. The women earns USTFCCCA all-academic team accolades for the fourth time in program history (2017-18, 2021-22 and 2022-23).
The Griffins' track and field teams are now the fourth and fifth Chestnut Hill teams to earn all-Academic Team status from their respective sports association for the 2024-25 academic year, joining the Men's Lacrosse Team (USILA); Men's Basketball Team (NABC) and the Women's Bowling team (NTCA).
