Victor Iove (Tournai, Belgium) supplied the necessary singles points to clinch the crown, respectively winning at number three singles (6-0, 6-2) and number six singles (6-0, 6-2).
Juniors,
Pedro Festugato Regalin (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) and
Lucas Bocaletto (Itatiba, Brazil) put the first point on the scoreboard for Chestnut Hill College (15-5) with their 8-2 win at number two doubles. The next one came at number three doubles, where sophomore
Felix Andre (Berlin, Germany) and freshman
Antoine Gautier (Eysines, France) triumphed 8-5. The sweep was complete with an 8-6 win at number one doubles from Sophomore
Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France) and Ducretot.
Singles soon followed. Ducretot put the Scarlet and Gold on the precipice of history with his 6-0, 6-2, win at number three singles. The CACC Championship followed, it came with celebration and Griffin pride after Iove's matching 6-0, 6-2, victory in the sixth singles flight. The remaining matches were left unfinished.
As the CACC Championship Tournament MVP, Ducretot was joined on the CACC All-Tournament Team by fellow teammates Andre, Gautier, Kohler, Post University's Nikola Crvelin (Kaštel Lukšic, Croatia) and Sam Urban (Košice, Slovakia), and Borna Novak (Cakovec, Croatia) from the University of the Sciences (USciences).
The Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team now awaits seeding in the upcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) East Region Championship. A selection show is schedule for Tuesday, April 25. Check GriffinAthletics.com for further details.
