Box Score Newark, N.J. - (4/30/2017) – Bringing their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season to a close, Chestnut Hill College made up an early-season rain out today, Sunday, April 30, with a seven-inning league contest at Bloomfield College. The Bears got the jump on the Griffins with a run in each of their first two at-bats. They added four more runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to outweigh a run-scoring single from sophomore designate hitter

Bloomfield College (18-21, 12-10) used a lead-off single and a two-out single to score in the first inning, 1-0. A Bear lead-off home run made it 2-0 in the second inning, before another two-out rally in the third inning made it 6-0 in favor of the home side. Bloomfield College added two more runs in the fourth inning, pushing their advantage to 8-0 before an Owens single to right field, a two-out wild pitch, and Small's single to center field brought home Chestnut Hill College's lone run in the top of the fifth inning, 8-1.
