Chestnut Hill College Recognizes Seniors, Before 7-2 CACC Victory over Post University

Box Score | Philadelphia, Pa. - (4/8/2017) – After paying homage to the collegiate careers of Louise Charley (St. Jean de Luz, France), Laure-Anne Josso (Vannes, France), Jonathan Ducretot (Antibes, France), and Pedro Oranges de Figueredo (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Chestnut Hill College secured their second Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory over Post University by a 7-2 final. The Griffins capitalized on a 2-1 doubles lead with victories in all but number two singles; the clincher came from sophomore Pierre Kohler (Les Sables d'Olonne, France), who won the number one singles flight, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
 
The first Chestnut Hill College (7-5, 2-0) point came at number three doubles, where sophomore Felix Andre (Berlin, Germany) and freshman Antoine Gautier (Eysines, France) endured for a, 8-1 win (1-0). Kohler and Ducretot pushed the Griffins' lead to 2-0 before Post University (9-6, 3-0) earned their first point in the second team flight, 9-7.
 
Sophomore Victor Iove (Tournai, Belgium) extended the Chestnut Hill College leas to 3-1 with his 6-1, 6-2 victory leading off the singles victories. The Eagles briefly delayed the Griffins win with their 6-3, 6-4 win at number two singles (3-2) but a 1-6, 6-3, 10-7 Gautier comeback at number five singles (4-2) and Kohler's third set win in a competitive number one singles flight clinched the match for the Scarlet and Gold. Andre and Ducrtot also scored singles win; the former at number three singles (1-6, 6-3, 10-7) and the latter at number four singles (7-5, 3-6, 6-3).
 
Chestnut Hill College continues their schedule on Monday, April 10, when they visit the University of the District of Columbia for a 1:00 p.m. match.
