Wilmington, Del. - (9/10/2017) – Taking advantage of a perfect late summer Sunday afternoon, the Chestnut Hill College golf team traveled to Rock Manor Golf Course in Wilmington, Delaware for the Swarthmore College/Neumann University Fall Invitational. Freshman
Jack LaRosa (Bristol, Pa.) led the Griffins to a third place finish (3
rd of 16, 311, +27) with his round of 75 (+4) tying him for fourth among a field of 81.
Swarthmore College won the event with a combined score of 297 (+27). The Garnet offered the top individual as well; freshman Michael Brown (Redding, Conn.) completed the 6,405-yard course in just 68 strokes (-3).
LaRosa was three strokes better than the next Griffins as fellow freshman
Tyler Marchese (Dunmore, Pa.) provided his second straight solid round of golf with a score of 78 (+7) tying him for 12
th place. Sophomore
Taylor Mezzatesta (Forest Hill, Md.) matched that score 78 (+7). Freshman
Dan Harrington (Pomfret, Conn.) tied for 17
th with his round of 80 (+9) strokes.
The Chestnut Hill College golf team competes next at the Charger Challenge, which will be hosted by Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Dominican College at Spook Rock Golf Course on Friday, September 22 through Sunday, September 24.
