Peyton Reno
Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/21/2017) – Tonight's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's volleyball action brought perennial North Division power, Caldwell University to Sorgenti Arena. Chestnut Hill College received nine kills and 13 digs from sophomore outside hitter Reily Byxbee (Madison, Conn.), 22 assists from junior setter Kennedy Sutton (Chesapeake, Va.), and another 17 digs from senior libero Peyton Reno (Wilmington, Del.), but was unable to cage the Cougars, who took the league match by a 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-15) final.

At the outset of tonight's Get Real with Teal match, Chestnut Hill College (2-11, 1-2) took a brief 6-5 advantage before Caldwell University (8-2, 3-0) knotted the first set at 6-6. After that the visitors gradually pulled away from the Scarlet and Gold, forcing the Griffins into timeouts down 17-12 and 20-13. Senior outside hitter Taryn Auyong (Honolulu, Hawaii) carried the Cougars' serve for that stretch, which propelled them to an eventual 25-16 win (1-0).

The Griffins owned an early 4-2 edge in the second set, thanks to a set-kill connection between Sutton and Byxbee. Unfortunately, Chestnut Hill College could not keep the Cougars down as Caldwell University rallied to a 17-15 lead at the Griffins' first timeout and slowly pulled away in a 25-19 final (2-0).

The third set mirrored the first as Caldwell University emerged from a 6-6 tie to lead 13-8 at the Griffins' first break and 18-12 at their second. It would be a 7-3 Cougar rush – on the service of sophomore middle blocker Kathleen Compagno (Orland Park, Ill.) and freshman outside hitter Marina Schlaepfer (Aurora, Colo.) – that concluded the league match in their favor, 3-0.

Caldwell College focused their attack through senior middle blocker Katrina Janssen (Seville, Australia), who netted 15 kills on a .333 (15K-3E-36TA) hitting percentage. She also recorded an ace, eight digs, and two blocks. Senior setter Gabrielle Bennett (San Antonio, Texas) handled the setting for 21 assists and provided an additional nine digs, while fellow senior, libero Jessica Mitchell (Plainfield, Ill.) totaled 17 digs.

Byxbee added a block to her nine kills and led the Griffins in points with 9.5. Sutton recorded a kill, an ace, five digs, and a block in addition to her assists.
