D2 Athletic Directors Association
Cleveland, Ohio – (9/9/2017) – One of 183 institutions nationwide and one of 12 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) members to have student-athletes earn Division II Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Awards, Chestnut Hill College is honored to congratulate 65 student-athletes who made the grade in 2016-2017. Recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher while attending a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college and serving as active members of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year. This year a record 10,644 student-athletes were recognized.

"As an Officer for the D2 ADA Board, I have been pleased to see the increase in the number of student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements," said D2 ADA President Scott Wiegandt, director of athletics at Bellarmine University. "This program is a point of pride for our current D2 ADA member institutions and a great way to recognize the achievements of their student athletes. On behalf of the D2 ADA we celebrate these academic accolades and are proud of your accomplishments."

The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards are an honorable distinction for their recipients. The award winners demonstrate a high level of academic achievement that reflects well on their College's and athletic department's commitment to nurturing the student-athlete on the field and in the classroom. The D2 ADA, which is in its 53rd year, is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the professionalism of Division II athletic directors. The D2 ADA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), for more information on the DII ADA Academic Achievement Awards, and the NACDA please visit www.nacda.com
