Griffins fall to Lions, Finish 5/6th At ECC Women’s Bowling Championships

Reading, Pa. - (3/24/2019) – Sophomore Kristina Scimone (Gibbsboro, N.J.) filled 8-of-8 frames and sophomore Lauren Klein (Horsham, Pa.) filled 7-of-8 frames, but it was not enough for #4 Chestnut Hill College to overcome #6 Molloy College in today's East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship Tournament Bracket competition. The Lions won the match by a 4-0 measure, leaving the Griffins in a tie with Kutztown University for the 5/6th position in the final standings.

#3 Caldwell University defeated #1 Lincoln Memorial University for the ECC Championship and therefore, earned the conference's automatic qualifier for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women's Bowling Championship. The ECC All-Tournament Team included Roberts Wesleyan College junior Emily Notebaert (Rochester, N.Y.), LIU Post freshman Rhianna Smith (Mount Olive, N.J.), Adelphi University junior McKenna Collier (Brick, N.J.), Lincoln Memorial University sophomore Christine Hansen (Aalborg, Denmark) and junior Mary-Kate Kersting (Sayreville, N.J.), and Caldwell University freshman Jenna Rapach (Hazelton, Pa.), who took home the Most Outstanding Bowler award as well.
 
For the weekend, Edelman and Scimone both led #4 Chestnut Hill College (51-47) in frames filled, 82.8%, while sophomore Christina Del Vecchio (Warrington, Pa.) led the Griffins in frame average, 19.82 pins, and strike percentage, .469.
 
Chestnut Hill College finished the 2018-2019 with the first winning record in program history; 51-47.
