Lafayette Hill, Pa. - (3/30/2019) – Chestnut Hill College dominated St. Thomas Aquinas College today at Victory Field #1 in a 14-8 non-conference matchup. The Griffins maintained a strong lead over the Spartans majority of the first half (9-3) and continued their stride for the remainder of the contest despite a small run in the final quarter. Senior attack 
Casey Brown (Havre de Grace, Md.) led the Griffin charge with five goals and three assists.
 
Chestnut Hill College (4-4) held a 5-2 edge over St. Thomas Aquinas College (4-3) at the end of the first period. Thanks to a four point run that included tallies from sophomore attack 
Carson Rees (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) (6-2, 10:26), junior attack 
Scott Wilden (Wexford, Pa.) (8-2, 8:22), and two from Brown (7-2, 9:33; 9-2, 6:41), the Griffins catapulted to a 9-3 advantage by the break.  By the final quarter the Spartans attempted to dig themselves out of their hole by outscoring the Scarlet and Gold 3-2, but their effort was not enough ending the contest 14-8.
 
Senior midfielder Brenton Mighty (Elmont, N.Y.), sophomore attack Luke Broderick (Ringwood, N.J.), junior attack Anthony Irizarry (Washingtonville, N.Y.) all recorded two goals each for the St. Thomas Aquinas College, while junior attack Tyler Senatore (West Haverstraw, N.Y.) and senior attack Kevin Alvora (Harrison, N.Y.) logged one goal each.  Ryan Mello () made 17 saves in the loss.
 
Brown's five goals and three assists were accompanied by three goals and two assists from Wilden, two goals and three assists from 
Rees and senior midfielder 
John Bennett (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.), sophomore midfielder 
Ben Revak (Aston, Pa.), senior midfielder 
Nick Webber (Westwood, Mass.), and senior defender 
Christopher Dachowski (Sellersville, Pa.) all tallied one goal each.  Freshman goalkeeper 
Austin Jones (Courtice, Ontario) (3), junior goalkeeper 
Stephen Hogan Jr. (Doylestown, Pa.) (4), and junior goalkeeper 
Mike Trezza (Forked River, N.J.) (0) all had a chance to protect the net, but Jones took the win.
