Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) headlined the Scarlet and Gold's performance as she earned a pair of qualifying wins en route to an appearance in the Women's Main Singles Bracket. Senior

Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain) teamed for a victory in the Women's Doubles Bracket, defeating a Dominican College duo consisting of junior Paula Gutierrez (Bogota, Columbia) and freshman Isha Mbaye (New Orleans, La.) by an 8-5 measure.
Broville began her tournament play with an 8-5 win over Mbaye. The victory advanced her to a second round match up with Adelphi University sophomore Lea Baschanow (Salzgitter, Germany). There, Broville earned her way into the Women's Main Singles Bracket with an 8-3 victory over Baschanow. Unfortunately, Broville was unable to continue her winning ways on the main bracket as she suffered a 6-1, 7-6, loss to Goldey-Beacom College sophomore Imane Van Veen (Paris, France). Fellow senior,
Nicole Yang (Blue Bell, Pa.) was the only other Griffin to record a win in singles competition as she scored an 8-5 victory over Queens College freshman Brooke Williams (Deer Park, N.Y.).
In the Women's Doubles Bracket, an 8-5 opening-round win for Covic and freshman
Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain) was the only victory for the Scarlet and Gold. Covic and Arguelles dropped their following match to the Adelphi University duo of freshman Julia Kielan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and sophomore Barbie Quagliardi (Istanbul, Turkey).
Chestnut Hill College resumes duel play on Saturday, September 21, when they host Caldwell University for a 12:00 p.m. Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) season opener.
