Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/23/2019) – Chestnut Hill College enjoyed their second straight 6-1 win today, Monday, September 23, as they put Kutztown University away early with consecutive wins at number two (6-1, 6-0), number one (6-2, 6-1), and number three (6-2, 6-3) singles. The Griffins earned the doubles point with wins in the second (6-1) and first (6-2) flights, while the Golden Bears only point came with a 6-1, 6-1, win at number four singles.
 
Chestnut Hill College (2-1) entered singles play with a 1-0 edge thanks to Scarlet and Gold wins at number two and number one doubles. Sophomore 
Gianna Vassalluzzo (Newtown, Pa.) and freshman 
Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain) got the Griffins off to a good start with their 6-1 at number two doubles. Seniors, 
Barbara Broville (Toulouse, France) and 
Mia Covic (Novi Sad, Serbia) clinched the doubles point soon after with their 6-2 win at number one doubles.
 
In singles play, consecutive wins from Broville, Covic, and Garcia Arguelles clinched the victory for the Griffins. Broville first extended Chestnut Hill College's lead to 2-0 with her 6-1, 6-0, win at number two singles. Covic followed with a 6-2, 6-1, win at number one singles (3-0), allowing Garcia Arguelles to secure the Scarlet and Gold victory with her 6-2, 6-3, win at number three singles (4-0). After Kutztown University's win at number four singles, Vassalluzzo and junior 
Mariana Sanchez (Trenton, N.J.) added the additional Griffins points with their respective wins at number five (8-6) and number six (8-4) singles.
Chestnut Hill College resumes their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule on Wednesday, September 25, when they visit Holy Family University for a 3:00 p.m. match.
