Hassler and Watts Earn CACC Women's Cross Country Weekly Honors

Two members of the Chestnut Hill College women's Cross Country team garnered weekly accolades from the Central Atlantic collegiate conference following their performance at last Friday's Paul Short Invitational.

Freshman Gabby Hassler was named the CACC women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week while sophomore Sydney Watts was named to CACC Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll.

Hassler, in her collegiate debut, completed the 6,000-meter Paul Short course in 24:58.8 to finish in 138th place out 331 finishers.  Her time was the third fastest time ever run by a Griffins runner on the Lehigh University/Paul Short Course.

Watts, meanwhile turned in the second fastest time ever run on the Paul Short course by a Griffins runner, completing the race in 24:33.8, placing 118th overall as the Griffins top finisher in the event.  Her time is also the fifth fastest 6K time in the overall program history.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Cross Country program returns to action on Saturday, October 15, 2022 when they race at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Invitational at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
