The Intercollegiate Tennis Association have announced the 2022 ITA Division II Men's and Women's Academic Awards with 74 programs earning Men's All-Academic Team honors and a total of 545 athletes designated as  ITA Men's Tennis Scholar Athletes.

In order to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete a tennis player must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.  Programs earn ITA all-Academic Team honors by having a team grade point average of 3.2 or better.

The Chestnut Hill Men's Tennis team was one of the 74 teams honors as an ITA all-Academic Team.  This year's honor is the sixth consecutive year that the Griffins have earned the honor and also the seventh time in the last eight years dating back to 2015  that the Griffins have earned ITA all-Academic Team status. The Griffins are also just one of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) teams and ten East Region teams to be recognized as a Division II All-Academic Team this season.

In addition,to the all-Academic Team honors,  five Chestnut Hill Men's tennis players earned ITA Scholar Athlete recognition, led by senior Joseph Gregory Kvint (Huntington Valley, Pa.).  Kvint is one of three two-time Chestnut Hill ITA honorees along with Domagoj Dugandzic (Stuttgart, Germany) and João Sousa (Figueira da Foz, Portugal).

Rounding out the Griffins five athletes are senior Tom Pitchley (London, England) and sophomore Noah Cutting (Bury St. Edmonds, England).

Kvint, who transferred to Chestnut Hill in 2020 from Purdue-Northwest was honored as a member of the CACC All-Academic Team in 2022 and was also inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Student Athlete Honor Society.  He graduated in May with a degree in biology.

Sousa and Dugandzic were also members of this year's CACC All Academic team.  Kvint, Sousa and Dugandzic also earned Chestnut Hill Athletic Academic Honor Roll and Dean List's honors in each of the past four semesters.   Sousa and Dugandzic are both accounting majors.

Pitchley and Cutting earned Chestnut Hill Athletic Academic Honor Roll and Dean's List honors for the first time during the past academic year.

All five Chestnut Hill ITA Scholar Athletes were also honored as part of the CACC All-Conference team in 2022, leading the Griffins to a CACC Runner-up finish in the conference tournament and a berth in the NCAA East Region Championship.
