The Chestnut Hill College golf team completed their second round on Monday at the Franklin Pierce Invitational, shooting a combined 23 strokes better than they did in round 1 as the team finished in 15
th place at Northern Spy Golf Club in Townsend, Massachusetts.
After producing a team score of 347 in round one, the Griffins shot 324 in round two to finish with a two-day total of 671, 19 strokes behind 14
th place American International University. Host Franklin Pierce University won the tournament with a two-day score of 577.
Drew Maiorca led the Griffins with a second round score of 78 to go with an 82 in the first round for a total of 160, finishing in a tie for 53
rd place.Â
John Bulman followed shooting 164 over the two rounds (84, 80).Â
P.J. Schulte was the Griffins' third finisher with a score of 167, shooting 11 strokes better (78) on Monday than his first round on Sunday (89).
Rounding out the Griffins five golfers were
Jake McCafferty and
Ryan Woelfling. McCafferty had a two-day total of 180 while Woelfling finished the tournament with a score of 185.
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship is up next for the Chestnut Hill College Golf team. The championship will be at the Watertown golf club on October 3-4 , 2022
