The Chestnut Hill College Men's Golf team competed in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Preview at White Clay Creek Golf Club in Wilmington, Delaware on Thursday. The event allowed all the conference teams to play a round at the course which will host the conference championship tournament next month.
The Griffins finished in seventh place among the conference teams with a score of 332, seven strokes behind sixth place Dominican University. Wilmington University won the event with a score of 295.
Kiefer Sharman and Rogelio Gerena led the Griffins, shooting identical scores of 81 (nine over par) to place in a tie for 23rd place. Both golfers recorded two birdies apiece, with Sharman also parring nine holes and Gerena seven.
Hugo Almeida finished one stroke behind Sharman and Gerena with a score of 82, making three birdies and parring nine holes. Trevor Dendler rounded out the Griffins four scorers with a score of 88.
Devin Viera shot 96 for the day as he made his collegiate debut. Jack Bulman who competed as an independent in the match, fired a score of 82 with three birdies.
The golf team returns to action on September 25, 2025, for a tri/quad match that will be hosted by Jefferson University. It will be the Griffins' final tune-up before the conference championship tournament the following week.
