The Chestnut Hill College Golf team closed out their 2024-25 season on Tuesday with a tenth place finish at the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational at the Penn Oaks golf club in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins finished with a second round score of 349. Coupled with their first round effort of 31 the team had a final score of 662, twelve strokes behind ninth place Jefferson University and 13 behind host West Chester University. Wilmington University won the event with a final score of 610.
Individually, Chase Forsyth led the team with a two round score of 158, shooting a five over par round of 76 on Monday and following up with an 82 on Tuesday. Forsyth finished in 18th place , nine strokes back of the winner Pablo Quintero of Wilmington (149).
Hugo Almeida finished four strokes behind Forsyth with a score of 162, shooting 80 on Monday and an 82 on Tuesday. Almeida finished in 29th place among the 64 golfers competing.
Rogelio Gerena, P.J. Schulte and Kiefer Sharman rounded out the Griffins' five competitors. Gerena struggled in Tuesday's round shooting a score of 96 after shooting 76 the day before to finish with a two round total of 172. Schulte was two strokes behind Gerena with a score of 174, shooting 81 in Monday's action and 93 on Tuesday. Sharman fired rounds of 89 and 92 to finish with a final score of 181.
With the conclusion of the Dr. Edwin B. Cottrell Invitational, the Chestnut Hill college golf team's 2024-25 season has come to an end.
