The Chestnut Hill College Men's Track and Field team broke two more school records as the squad competed as the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational at The Ocean Breeze Sports complex in Staten Island, New York on Friday.

The records were broken by Chris Nelson in the 1,000 meter run and by Elijah Williams in the 60 meter hurdles race.  Williams also set a personal-best time in the 200-meter dash.
Nelson raced to a 2:42.53 time in the 1,000 meter run, placing third overall.  His time beat the previous indoor school record set by Aaron Morris back in 2017 by nearly six seconds.  Earlier in the meet, Nelson ran a solid 4:28.89 in the mile run to place eighth in the event.  His time is the third fastest in program history, just 0.39 seconds behind his own time from last week's meet (4:28.50) and 1.06 seconds of Giancarlo Martines' record race of 2:47.83 set back in 2017.

Williams placed eighth in his heat of the 60-meter hurdles, completing the race in 10.04 seconds, taking 1.1 seconds off Manon Purnell's 11.14 indoor record set back in 2015.  Williams also ran a personal best time of 25.91 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Four additional top ten finishes were recorded by the Griffins.  Brandon Moye took second place overall in the 60- meter dash while Pierson Dyson narrowly missed the school record in the long jump, leaping 6.35 meters (20'10") to place sixth. Pierson's mark was just 0.04 meters (1.6 inches) shy of the current indoor school record of 6.39 meters.

In the shot put, Jason Chedester threw 10.94 meters (35' 10¾") to place ninth while Elijah Fogg threw 10.90 meters (35' 9¼") to place tenth.

The men's track and field team returns to action with their first outdoor track meet on March 25, 2023 when they compete in the Osprey Invitational, hosted by Richard Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey.
