The Chestnut Hill College Men's Golf team closed out the fall portion of their season Tuesday with a fifth place finish at the Griffins' own tournament, the Chestnut Hill Invitational, played at the Union League National Golf course in Swainton, New Jersey.
The Griffins finished with a two round score of 669, nine strokes ahead of conference champion Goldey-Beacom college (678) and just three strokes behind fourth place Jefferson University (666) and 11 behind third place Wilmington University (658).  Queens University in Ontario Canada won the event with a score of 638.
Chase Forsyth led the Griffins with a two-round score of 161, finishing tied for ninth place among the 48 competitors. Forsyth finished seven strokes behind the winner, Pablo Quintero of Wilmington (154).  The freshman golfer birdied a total of four holes in the tournament while recording par on 14.
Senior PJ Schulte followed with a score of 168 to tie for 19th place. Schulte birdied four holes over the course of two rounds while shooting par on 13.
Hugo Almeida was one stroke behind Schulte with a score of 169, tying him for 23rd place. The freshman golfer recorded three birdies and 12 pars over the 36-holes played.
Kiefer Sharman was the Griffins final scorer, posting a two-round total of 176, tying for 32nd place.
Rogelio Gerena was one stroke behind Sharman with a score of 177. Jack Bulman competed as an individual in the event, posting a two-round score of 185.
The men's golf team will resume action in the spring semester.
