Senior Sydney Watts closed out her stellar cross country career on Saturday as the Chestnut Hill women's Cross Country team competed at the NCAA division II East Region Championships hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University in Rochester, New York.
Watts finished the 6,000-meter race in 23:51.6 placing 45th overall. Her 6K time was the second fastest 6K time in program history, topped only by her 23:44 performance at last year's Lock Haven Invitational.  It is also the fastest time a Chestnut Hill runner has ever recorded at the NCAA East Region Championships.
Gabby Hassler and DeAnna Otero rounded out the Griffins' three competitors. Hassler completed the 6K course in 26:00.7 while Otero finished with a personal best time of 31:49.8.
The championship race marks the conclusion of the 2024 cross country season for the Chestnut Hill women's team. The team will now turn its focus towards the indoor and outdoor track and field season.
