Two school records, six top ten finishes and eight personal best marks highlighted the Chestnut Hill College Women's Track and Team's performance at the Garden State Collegiate Open Friday night at the Ocean Breeze Athletic complex in Staten Island, New York.

Solanje James extended her school record in the 200-meter dash, finishing in a time of 29.04 seconds, shaving .45 off her previous record mark set two weeks ago at the Scarlet Knight Open.  She finished 25^th in the event.  James also recorded a personal best mark of 8.49 seconds in the 60-meter dash, placing 14^th overall.

Gabby Hassler later tied the school record of 2:33.86  set back in 2018 by Irene Canizares-Luill in the 800-meter run.  Hassler finished eighth overall.

Anastasia Watson continued her solid indoor season with a second place finish in the shot put with a toss of 11.34 meters(37'2½").   Erin McCarthy was fourth in shot put, with a personal-best toss of 9.51 meters (31'2½"). Fiona Goeckel was the Griffins only other field event performer, competing in the long jump and placing eighth overall with a personal best jump of 4.02 meters (13' 2¼").

Back to the track, the Griffins had three runners competing in the mile run, Rebecca Dalton, Sydney Watts, and Aubrey Elias.  Dalton and Watts finished eighth and ninth respectively and both recorded personal best times with Dalton finishing in 5:37.40 and Watts 5:37.53. Elias placed 11^th with a time of 5:46.80.

Sprinter  DeAnna Otero recorded the Griffins' remaining two personal best marks.  Otero had personal bests in both the 60-meter dash (8.70 seconds) and the 200 meter dash (29.05 seconds).  She placed 20^th in 60-meter race and 26^th in the 200 meter race.

The Women's Track and Field team returns to action on Friday, February 23, 2024, for the final indoor meet before the start of the outdoor season.  The team will again compete at Ocean Breeze in the FastTrack Last Chance Invitational.
