The Chestnut Hill College Golf team turned in a solid performance on the first day of the WCU Battlefield Classic, hosted by West Chester University and played at the Links at Gettysburg in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins finished with a team score of 305 to sit in fourth place heading into Tuesday's final round, just 11 strokes behind the leader, host West Chester (294) and one stroke behind third place Shepherd (304).
Rogelo Gerena And Chase Forsyth paced the Griffins with identical rounds of 75 and sit in a four-way tie for ninth place. Hugo Almeida is one stroke behind Gerena and Forsyth with a round of 76 and is tied for 13th place.
P.J. Schulte shot a 79 to round out the Griffin's four scorers. He sits in 26th place heading into the final round. Jack Bulman rounded out the Griffins competitors with a score of 82.
The golf team will conclude the tournament with their final round on Tuesday at the Links at Gettysburg.
