The Chestnut Hill College Golf team battled to a fourth place finish at the Moravian Weyhill Classic on Monday with a pair of Griffins recording top ten finishes in the event.
The Griffins finished the 18holes at Saucon Valley country Club with a score of 323, just three strokes behind third place Drew university and 24 strokes behind the University of Scranton who won the event with a score of 296.
Hugo Almeida and
Chase Forsyth recorded top ten finishes for Chestnut Hill with Almeida tying for third place with a four-over par 75. Forsyth finished tied for seventh with a score of 78.
After struggling through the front nine, Almeida recovered and shot two under par for the back nine, recording birdies on the 12
th, 15
th and 17
th holes and had only a single bogey in the final nine to finish the day at four-over with a score of 75. His back-nine score of 34 was the lowest back-nine score of any competitor in the match.
Forsyth recorded birdies on the fourth and 12
th holes and added eight pars, including five straight pars following his birdie on the 12
th hole en route to his seventh place finish with a score of 78.
Kiefer Sharman finished tied for 19
th with a score of 82. Sharman recorded birdies on the ninth and 12
th holes and added seven parts on the afternoon.
Rounding out the Griffin finishers were
Jack Bulman and
P.J. Schulte.  Bulman shot an 88 on the afternoon, which included a birdie on the ninth hole, while Schulte finished the day with a score of 92.

The men's golf team returns to action on Monday, September 23, 2024 when they compete at the GBC Fall Invitational at Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford, Pennsylvania.
