Game Recap: Sprint Football |

Offense Explodes for 41 Points as Griffins Win Third Straight Game

The offense as well as the defense turned in solid performances Saturday night as the Chestnut Hill College Sprint football team won their third straight contest, defeating Molloy University 41-7 at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins improve to 3-1 overall while the Lions fall to 1-3.

Chestnut Hill produced 538 yards of total offense, the most by a Griffins team since the 2018 season and the second highest total in program history behind the 553 yards gained against Manfield University on September 21, 2018. Meanwhile the defense held the Lions to 183 total yards.

Anthony Cancellare threw three touchdown passes  while completing 11 of 15 passes for 202 yards.  Cancellare's efforts produced a quarterback pass efficiency rating of 252.45, the second highest ever by a Griffin in program history.

The Griffin's running game was also impressive, racking up 336 yards on the ground.  Xavier Limehouse had 19 carries for 135 yards and a touchdown while Folley Tarley gained 95 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.  Kadeem Woods gained 80 yards on two carries while also scoring a touchdown.

Aiden Neff caught six passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.  Ronell Wheeler caught a pair of passes, including one for a touchdown.

On the defensive side, Cam Goldsmith led the team with nine tackles, 2,5 for loss and one sack.  Lex Williams added seven tackles.  Hunter Oaks had an interception.

The Griffins, after giving up the ball on downs on their first possession, scored on each of their next six possessions.

Following a scoreless first quarter, Cancellare and Neff connected for a six-yard touchdown pass for the first touchdown of the game.  Two plays earlier, Neff caught a 45-yard pass from Cancellare to set up a first-and goal for the Griffins from the ten yard line.  Brady Reynolds kicked the extra point for the 7-0 lead.

The Griffins scored again on their next possession driving the ball 85 yards in nine plays.  Sixty-seven of those yards came from the arm of Cancellare with completions to Limehouse (20 yards), Neff (28 yards) and a 19-yard touchdown pass to Wheeler with just 14 seconds left in the half, making the score 13-0 as the teams heading into the locker room at the break.

Limehouse ran for 46 yards on the Griffins opening possession of the third quarter culminating in a six yard touchdown run at the 8:02 mark, boosting the Griffins lead to 20-0. After the Lions pinned the Griffins down on their own two-yard line, the Griffins utilized the running game and some timely passes to score their fourth touchdown of the game.

Limehouse opened the drive with a 28-yard run and two plays later Tarley added another 28 yards on the ground to push the ball into Lion territory.   Kyree Griffin added 14 yards on another running play and Cancellare hooked up with Neff for 16 yards to place the Griffins in the red zone.  Three plays later, the Cancellare-Neff combination struck again for a 13-yard touchdown pass for a 27-0 lead just seven seconds into the fourth quarter.

Tarley amassed 55 yard on the ground on the Griffins next possession as the Griffins increased their lead to 34-0.  Tarley culminated the drive with a score from one-yard out with 6:13 left.

Molloy finally got on the scoreboard on their next possession  driving 75 yards in eight plays to make the score 34-7 with 2:42 left in the game.

The Griffins were not finished however, running the ball for another quick score.  Tarley had a 45-yard run called back because of a holding penalty but Woods made up for it with a 69-yard run to take the ball to the Molloy 11-yard line at the two-minute warning.  Woods followed with an 11 yard run for the Griffins' final score of the game with 1:54 remaining.

The sprint football team returns to action on Friday, October 17, 2025 when they travel Navy for a key CSFL South Division contest.  Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
