Reynolds' Field goal Lifts Griffins to Win over Quakers

Brady Reynolds' field goal with no time left on the clock provided the only points for the Chestnut Hill College Sprint Football team as they defeated the University of Pennsylvania 3-0 Saturday evening at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins improve to 4-2 with the win and 2-1 in the Collegiate Sprint Football League South division.  Penn falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the CSFL South.

Reynolds kick capped off a 15-play 78 yard drive that took up the final 7:02 of the game.  Anthony Cancellare started the ball rolling with pass completions to Tzion Allen and Kyree Griffin for 13 and 17 yards respectively, moving the ball to midfield.

After getting pushed back with a penalty, Griffin caught two more Cancellare passes to move the ball into quaker territory .  Aiden Neff followed with a 10-yard completion to Neff to the Quaker 20-yard line as the two-minute warning was reached.  Ronell Wheeler added a six-yard reception and the Griffins was later sitting on a 3rd-down and four yards to go from the 14-yard line.

Following a Quaker timeout, Cancellare found Neff again for seven more yards  to bring up first-and goal from the seven yard line as the clock ticked under a minute.  Xavier Limehouse had three carries, gaining five more yards and running the clock down to 2.8 seconds.

Enter Reynolds to attempt a 19-yard field goal.  The Quakers called timeout in an attempt to ice the kicker but following the timeout Reynolds drilled the ball through the uprights for the game-winning field goal as time expired.

Cancellare finished the game completing 25 of 39 passes for 224 yards, tying a school record for most completions in a single game.  Griffin also tied a school record with ten catches in the game, netting 83 yards.  Allen added five catches for 57 yards and Neff four receptions for 38 yards.  Limehouse finished the game with 68 yards rushing.

Cam Goldsmith led the team with seven tackles including three for loss.  He also had two of the Griffins' three sacks on the evening.  Amir Jenkins recorded the other sack for chestnut Hill.  Hunter Oaks and Justin Oppong each recorded an interception.

For the game, the Griffins had 305 yards total offense  while holding Penn to 148 yards offense.
