Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis players Menno Raeymaekers and Arnaud Vangenechten were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Tennis Academic All District® team in an announcement made by the organization and the CSC Academic All-America® committee.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 70 percent of their team's matches that produce a team score and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Graduate students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate programs. This is only the third season that the CSC has named men's tennis academic all-district and all-America teams separate from the at-large program.
Raeymaekers and Vangenechten both joined the men's tennis program in 2023-24 after transferring into the college from Santa Barbara City College. The two played primarily at #4 through #6 singles throughout the season and also partnered in doubles play for the latter half of the season, winning four matches.
In the classroom, the two are both business administration and management majors and have mirrored each other in their academic success accolades. Earlier this month both Vangenechten and Raeymaekers were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society. The duo have also been named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll in each of their first three semesters at Chestnut Hill, earned Dean's List honors and were named to the CHJC Athletic Academic Honor Roll. Raeymaekers and Vangenechten were named ITA Scholar Athlete and earned the D2ADA Academic Achievement Award for the 2023-24 season.
Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee.
