Three members of the Chestnut Hill College Softball team have been named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Women's Softball Academic All District® team in an announcement made by the organization and the CSC Academic All-America® committee Tuesday afternoon.

Named to this year's academic all-district team were seniors Anastasia Watson and Amaris Guzman  along with sophomore Izabella Rodriguez. The three softball honorees are the first in program history to earn CSC Academic All District® honors.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 90 percent of their team's contests and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Graduate students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate programs.

Watson recently graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society and Tri-Alpha, the National Honor society for first-generation college students. A two-sport athlete, Watson has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Academic Team in both sports and has earned CACC Academic Honor Roll accolades in each of the past three semesters. She has earned departmental honors for chemistry and has been named to the Chestnut Hill College Dean's List four times.

This season, Watson led the team with a .381 batting average, 45 hits, three home runs and 26 RBI. During the month of March, the senior first baseman had a school record 16 game hitting streak.

Guzman recently completed her second season as a member of the softball team after transferring into Chestnut Hill from Mount San Antonio College. The senior outfielder/designated hitter started 30 games recording 27 hits.

A solid performer in the classroom, Guzman graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business administration and management and is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma and Sigma Beta Delta, the business honor society. Guzman, like Watson, earned departmental honors for her respective major. She has also been named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll in each of the past three semesters.

Rodriguez just completed her first year as a Griffin following her transfer to the school from Seton Hill University. The sophomore outfielder played in 40 games, starting 38 while recording 31 hits, including four doubles and a team high four triples while producing 25 RBI.

A biochemistry major, Rodriguez has earned Dean's List Honors in each of her first two semesters at Chestnut Hill and was named to the CACC Fall 2024 Academic Honor roll. (The spring honor roll will be announced next month).

Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee.

The softball team concluded their 2025 campaign with a 16-28-1 overall record and a 7-15 mark in conference games. Their 16 wins is the most in one season by a Griffins' softball team since the 2019 season (18 wins).
