Dalton Earns All-CACC Honors as Griffins Conclude Season at CACC Track & Field Championship

Rebecca Dalton earned all-conference honors  Saturday as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Track and Field concluded their season at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship meet Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey.

The Griffins finished with 19 points to place ninth in the competition. Felician University captured the championship with a score of 222 points.

Dalton led two CHC runners competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase event on Saturday morning, recording a second  place finish with a time of 12:46.49 and earning all-conference accolades as one of the top two finishers in the event.   Gabby Hassler placed fourth in the event with a time of 14:09.82.

Saturday also saw the shot put and discus competition with Anastasia Watson representing the Griffins in both events. Watson took home a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.50 meters (37' 8¾"). In the discus throw, Watson placed eighth with a toss of 35.03 meters (114'11").

On Friday  Watson was one of three Griffins' competing in the javelin competition. Grace Mott was the Griffin's top finisher in the event, placing eighth with a personal-best toss of 28.74 meters (94'3"). Watson was 11th with a toss of 25.73 meters (84'5") while Erin McCarthy was 12th with a throw of 24.48 meters (80'4").

Hassler concluded the Griffins' competition at the championship meet with an 11th place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 25:21.23 Saturday afternoon.
