Six Men's Lacrosse Players Named to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District At Large Team

Six members of the  Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team in an announcement made by the organization and the CSC Academic All-America® committee.

Named to this year's men's at-large academic all-district team were  graduate student Mick Kilgallon; seniors Evan Farlow, Sam Slater and Austin Derx and   juniors Daniel Myers and Sam Koehler.

To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 90 percent of their team's contests or start in 66% and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Graduate students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate programs.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes Women's At-Large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. At-large honorees represent sports that the CSC Academic All-America® program does not honor with their own separate team.

Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee.  Kilgallon, Farlow and Slater advanced to the national ballot.

Kilgallon, a midfielder was recently named to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Men's Lacrosse team and the Central Atlantic collegiate conference Men's Lacrosse All-Academic team.  At his former school, Misericordia University, Kilgallon  was named to the MAC Freedom Academic honor roll three times and the MAC Freedom all-Academic Team once.  He is currently pursuing a master's degree in cyber security.

The graduate student midfielder led the Griffins this season with 26 goals and 44 points  while ranking second on the team with 16 assists. He scored at least one goal in all12ofhis starts. Kilgallon earned honorable mention all-America honors from the USILA in addition to being named to the USILA third team all-north Region as a midfielder.  He was also named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team all-CACC.

Derx and Myers were inducted into  Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Student-Athlete Honor Society this past May  while Slater and Farlow were 2024 inductees.

Farlow graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in business administration and management.  In addition to the above accolades, he has earned Deans list honors four times and CHC Athletic Academic honor Roll accolades five times during his career at Chestnut Hill.

Farlow has played in every game and was a solid defender for the Griffins all-season long, leading the team with 32 ground balls and fifth on the team with ten caused turnovers. He also scored a goal and three assists on the season. In his four seasons, Farlow has recorded 24 caused turnovers to rank among the Griffins' top 20 all-time leaders.

Slater graduated this past May with a bachelor's degree in psychology major. He has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester at Chestnut Hill. He was named to the Philly-SIDA Academic all area Men's lacrosse team in 2024.

Slater has started all 13 games this season and  is second on the team 24 goals, 42 points and 30 ground balls. Slater also led the team with 18 assists. He earned CACC player of the week honors earlier this month after his nine point (six goals, three assists) performance against Holy Family University. Slater has scored multiple goals seven times this season. In his four seasons, Slater ranks ninth on the Griffins all-time list with 78 goals and 132 points.

Derx also graduated this past May, receiving a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Derx  transferred into Chestnut Hill in the fall of 2023 and has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in each of his four semesters as a Griffin. He appeared in 12 games this season, scoring seven goals.

Myers a business administration and management major has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in each of his first six semesters.

Koehler transferred into Chestnut Hill in the Fall of 2024 and has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in both semesters this academic year.

Myers and Koehler were an integral part of the Griffins' 2025 defense.  The duo finished second and third respectively with 13 and 12 caused turnovers.

Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee. Honorees will be announced in early July.
