The Chestnut Hill Men's Tennis team was one of the 76 teams honors as an ITA all-Academic Team. This year's honor is the ninth consecutive year that the Griffins have earned the honor and also the tenth time in the last 11 seasons dating back to 2015 that the Griffins have earned ITA all-Academic Team status. As a team, the Griffins produced a team g.p.a. of 3.52 for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Griffins are also one of just eight East Region teams to be recognized as a Division II All-Academic Team this season. Chestnut Hill played as an independent this season along with Jefferson University, the only other remaining conference team after two other CACC schools folded their programs.
In addition to the all-Academic Team honors, five Chestnut Hill Men's tennis players earned ITA Scholar Athlete recognition, led by seniors Marcello Bozzone, Menno Raeymaekers and Arnaud Vangenechten.
The three seniors were joined by sophomore Pablo Cervera and freshman Enzo Puppi as ITA Scholar Athletes.
All five honorees are Business Administration and Management majors at Chestnut Hill. Bozzone graduated in December with his Bachelor of Science degree.
Bozzone also earns ITA Scholar Athlete honors for the third time. He was named to the CACC all-Academic Team for 2023-24 and has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in every semester at Chestnut Hill after transferring into the school for the Fall 2022 semester.
Raeymakers and Vangenechten earn ITA Scholar Athlete honors for the second time. The two athletes also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors for 2024-25. In the classroom, the two have mirrored each other in their academic success accolades. Earlier this month both Vangenechten and Raeymaekers were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society. The duo have also been named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll in each of their first three semesters at Chestnut Hill, earned Dean's List honors and were named to the CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll.
Cervera and Puppi are both in their first season competing for the Griffins. The duo has earned CACC Academic honor Roll accolades in both semesters for 2024-25 and were also named to the CHC Athletic Academic honor roll in each semester. Cervera has also earned Dean's List honors in both semesters while Puppi was a Fall 2024 Dean's List honoree.
The Griffins' men's tennis team is now the sixth Chestnut Hill team to earn all-Academic Team status from their respective sports association for the 2024-25 academic year, joining the Men's Lacrosse Team (USILA); Men's Basketball Team (NABC); Women's Bowling team (NTCA) and the men's and women's track and field teams (USTFCCCA).
