Three members of the Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team each won two singles matches as they team opened their 2025-26 season at the Husky Invitational, hosted by Bloomsburg University Saturday and Sunday.
Siddharth Malik won his flight with two straight wins to finish the weekend undefeated. After a bye in the opening round, Malik defeated Nicolas Mastiu of Bloomsburg 6-4, 6-2 before winning a hard fought match with Sebastian Quinones of St. Francis University, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1.
Enzo Puppi won the first two matches in his flight bracket, defeating Ridha Gettas of Morgan State University, 6-3, 7-5 and Mario Beckles of St. Francis, 6-3, 6-1. Noah Potts of St. Francis then won a hard fought match against Puppi, 6-4, 6-7 (7-2), 1-0 (10-5) to win the flight bracket.
Newcomer Augustin Dubannay was also in the same flight bracket as Puppi.   The freshman won his first match, defeating Jaime Soria of Bloomsburg 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-3) before falling to Potts in the semi finals of the flight.   He then defeated Beckles in the consolation match, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6).
Filippo Relecom won his opening match in his respective flight, defeating Blake Lorenzo of St. Francis 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) before dropping his next two matches, falling in the semi finals to Jack Searborn of Bloomsburg and the consolation match to Roman Filma of Morgan State.
Pablo Cervera went 1-1 in singles, earning a win on Lu Casamitjana of Bloomsburg 6-4, 6-4 before falling to the top player from St. Francis, Kevin Suresh, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6).
Alessio Lefebvre competed in the same bracket as Cervera, losing his opening match before winning against Greg Troyan of St. Francis 6-4, 6-4. He dropped his final match to Kerouat of Morgan State.
In doubles competition, Cervera and Ewan Brown  lost their opening match but proceeded to win their next two, defeating Potts and Beau Welker of St. Francis 6-2 and Sergio Dilan and Searborn of Bloomsburg 6-3.
Lefevre and Daubannay earned the Griffins remaining doubles win. Playing in the same bracket as Cervera and Brown, they dropped their first two matches before defeating Potts and Welker in their final match 6-3.
The men's tennis team returns to action with a home match against Queens College on September 17, 2025. First serve is 11:00 a.m.
