NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Chestnut Hill College Baseball team has been picked to finish seventh as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced the pre-season coaches poll, today. Voting on the poll is done by the league's 12 head coaches.
For the first time in a full season since the 2017 campaign, the CACC baseball regular season will not be contested in a divisional format. The conference's 12 teams will play three games against each of the others, a doubleheader and a single game. Each school will thus have 33 league contests, and the top eight teams in the standings at season's end will qualify for the CACC Championship tournament.
The Griffins finished last season at 20-14 in league play, placing fourth in the CACC South Division losing in the first round to Jefferson University.
Felician University was the top vote getter, receiving nine first place votes and 118 points. Wilmington University earned two first place votes and finished with 107 points. Jefferson (100 points), Goldey-Beacom College (91 points) and Dominican University (88 points) followed with Dominican earning the final first place vote. Post was picked sixth with 67 points followed by the Griffins with 56 points.
Rounding out the poll were Holy Family University; Caldwell University; University of Bridgeport; Georgian Court University, and Lincoln University.
The Griffins, under veteran Head Coach Robert Spratt, open the 2026 season with a doubleheader against D'Youville University at the Northeast Challenge in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Friday, February 20 at 10:30 a.m. They begin CACC play on Wednesday, March 11 at Wilmington University.
