Nine Griffin Baseball Players Named to the 2025 CACC All Academic Team

Nine members of the Chestnut Hill College Baseball team have been named to the 2025 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball All-Academic Team in an announcement made by the conference office on Monday.

In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.

Three repeat winners were among the nine Griffin ballplayers honored.  Senior  Justin Geiger and Colby Seelig  earned All-Academic Team honors for the third  time in their careers while junior Michael Melosky is a two time honoree.

Six first time honorees joined the three repeat winners led by seniors Phoenix Bowman and Dan Ciotti; redshirt junior Christian Peluso; and sophomores Angus Moore, Michael Pascoe and Wyatt Spinks.

The nine Chestnut Hill players were among 72  players named to the team, representing 11 of the 12 schools that play baseball within the conference. 

Geiger, Seelig, Pascoe and Bowman were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team earlier this month  with Geiger and Seelig also named to the Philly-SIDA Academic all-Area team.

Bowman, Ciotti, Melosky and Peluso were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma the national college athlete honor society last month while Geiger and Seelig were inducted in May of 2024.

Six of the nine honorees, Bowman, Ciotti, Geiger, Melosky, Peluso and Seelig were named D2 Athletic Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Award winners for 2023-24 with Geiger and Seelig also earning the honor for 2022-23.

All nine honoree have also earned CACC Academic honor Roll accolades in every semester since the program began in the Fall of 2023.

In addition to becoming a three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree with his selection earlier this month and a two-time Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team selection, Geiger is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society (History) along with Chi Alpha Sigma.  He graduated with honors last month with dual degrees in secondary education and history.

In addition to the above honors, Seelig also a member of two different honor societies in addition to  Chi Alpha Sigma;  Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society. He has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in every semester at Chestnut Hill.  He graduated in May with honors with a bachelor's degree in marketing.

Bowman recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in forensic chemistry.  A 2023 transfer into Chestnut Hill, he has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in every semester at the school in addition to the above honors.

An accounting major, Pascoe has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll in every semester while attending Chestnut Hill in addition to the above honors.

Melosky, a cybersecurity major, has earned Dean's list and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades in each of the last three semesters.

Ciotti graduated last month with a bachelor's degree in business administration and management.  Since transferring into Chestnut Hill in the Fall of 2023 he has earned Dean's list honors twice and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll status three times.

Peluso, an exercise science major has  earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic honor roll accolades twice since transferring into the college.

Spinks has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in each of his first four semesters at Chestnut Hill.

Moore is a two-time Dean's List honoree and has garnered CHC athletic Academic honor roll status three times.

Since the start of the program in 2008, 47 different Griffin baseball players have been named to the CACC Baseball All-Academic Team a total of 83 times. Geiger and Seelig are among the 12 Griffin players who have earned CACC all-Academic honors three in their career while an additional 12 players including Melosky this year have earned the honor twice.
