Three members of the Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women's Tennis Academic All District® team in an announcement made by the organization and the CSC Academic All-America® committee.
Named to this year's academic all-district team were senior Claudia Rasilla Romero and juniors Lilian Bandel and Elena Arenas Guisasola. Rasilla and Bandel were also named to the 2024-25 Academic All-district Team, becoming the programs fourth and fifth two-time honorees.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for Academic All-District® accolades, student-athletes must be at least at sophomore athletically and academically, appear in 70 percent of their team's matches that produce a team score and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. Graduate students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA in both their undergraduate and graduate programs. This is only the third season that the CSC has named women's tennis academic all-district and all-America teams separate from the at-large program.
Academic All-District® honorees are reviewed by a group of Academic All-America® committee members for consideration for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, where first, second and third team Academic All-America® honorees are chosen by the CSC Division II membership and the Academic All-America® core committee. Bandel and Arenas were advanced to the national ballot.
The three honorees are all embers of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society with Bandel and Arenas inducted earlier this month and Rasilla in 2025. The trio have also earned ITA Scholar athlete honors in each of their seasons at Chestnut Hill.
Rasilla is a business administration and management major. The senior athlete recorded a 18-12 record in 2025-26, playing primary at #5 singles where she recorded an 6-2 mark and #2 doubles (5-4 record). Most recently she was awarded the Athletic Department's highest female g.p.a. award for having the highest grade point average among the senior female athletes. Rasilla is a two-time CACC All-Academic Team and D2 Athletic Director's Association Academic Achievement Award Winner. She has been named to the CACC Academic honor roll five times and earned Dean's List honors at Chestnut Hill in every semester.
Bandel is also a business administration and management major. She produced a 25-12 record on the season including an 8-1 mark in conference singles matches. Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-Conference team for the second consecutive year. She was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, the National Business Honor Society in April and earned CACC All-Academic Team honors last season.
Arenas is a biology major at Chestnut Hill. She was named to the CACC all-Conference Team this past fall, compiling ten wins in conference matches, primarily at #1 singles and #1 doubles. Arenas was named to the CACC all-Academic Team for 2024-25 and was a D2ADA Academic achievement Award Winner that same year. As a freshman, Arenas was named the CACC Rookie of the Year.
The women's tennis team concluded their 2025-26 campaign with a 5-12 overall record and a 4-7 mark in conference games, reaching the conference semifinals.
