Mezzatesta Makes CACC Golf Monthly Honor Roll
New Haven, Conn. - (5/6/2019) – Junior Taylor Mezzatesta (Forest Hill, Md.) was Chestnut Hill College’s top finisher at the Assumption College Invitational, on April 13 and 14, and tied for fifth place (75, +3) at the Jefferson Invitational on April 16 to garner a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Golf April Report Honor Roll.
Chestnut Hill College held their ground on the second and final day of competition at the Assumption College Invitational as a day-two 78 (+6) from Mezzatesta and a trio of 80’s (+8) kept the Griffins fourth in the six team field (4th of 6, 328-318; 646, +70). Franklin Pierce University captured the tournament title with their combined score of 598 (302-296, +22). Three Ravens placed among the top-5 finishers at Blackstone National Golf Club, including the invitational’s top two strikers in junior Nathan Patterson (Conway, Mass.) (1st, 70-74; 144, E) and junior Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) (2nd, 76-72; 148, +4).
The 2018-2019 season came to a close with the 9th Annual Jefferson Invitational. Chestnut Hill College placed fourth (4th of 13, 313, +25) at the event as junior Shawn Mayer (Brick, N.J.) placed fourth on the individual leaderboard with a round of 74 (+2). Mayer was just a spot in front of Mezzatesta, who tied for fifth with his round of 75 (+3).
