Kalala Earns CACC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll Mention with Play at Raider Classic
 
New Haven, Conn. - (9/9/2019) – Junior outside hitter Corrine Kalala (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned an appearance on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll with her performance during three matches at this past weekend’s Raider Classic. Kalala totaled a team-high 23.5 points, killing 21 balls on a .262 (21K-5E-61TA) hitting percentage, while recording a solo block and three block assists. She also recorded an assist and six digs in the Griffins’ 0-3 effort versus Kutztown University (L, 1-3; 25-21, 15-25, 22-25, 22-25), host Shippensburg University (L, 0-3; 15-25, 16-25, 9-25), and Slippery Rock University (L, 0-3; 18-25, 16-25, 19-25).
 
The 2019 Chestnut Hill College women’s volleyball season began on Friday, September 6, with a trip to Shippensburg University for the Raider Classic. The Scarlet and Gold won their first set of the opening day with a 25-21 initial effort against Kutztown University, but the Golden Bears reciprocated with victories of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-22 to take the opening match of the event. Later, the hosting Raiders defeated the Griffins by a 3-0 (15-25, 16-25, 9-25) measure. Kalala recorded a team-high 11 points against the Golden Bears with 10 kills on a .259 (10K-3E-27TA) hitting percentage and assisted on a pair of blocks. Later, against Shippensburg University, she totaled three kills, an assist, and a dig.
 
Chestnut Hill College concluded their stay at Shippensburg University’s Raider Classic on Saturday, September 7, with a morning match versus Slippery Rock University. The Scarlet and Gold led off the opening serve, but the Rock came back for a 25-18 win in the first set. They capitalized on the victory with succeeding wins of 25-16 and 25-19 (3-0; 25-18, 25-16, 25-19). Freshman setter Henielys Ramos (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) provided 16 assists, allowing Kalala and junior middle hitter Ragen Baldwin (Lancaster, Pa.) to record eight kills apiece. Kalala also recorded a solo block and an assisted block to lead the Griffins with 9.5 points.
