New Haven, Conn. - (11/18/2019) – Junior guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) averaged a team-high 14.5 points per game in losses versus Millersville University (L, 54-71 on November 14) and the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) (L, 48-70 on November 16) to garner a spot on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll. Sebold was at the forefront of the Griffins’ rallying effort against the Marauders, scoring a season-high 20 points while additional contributing three rebounds, six assists, a block, and a steal.

Chestnut Hill College (1-3) welcomed Millersville University (1-2) to Sorgenti Arena on Thursday, November 14, but could not grab its second straight win as a poor shooting night plagued the Griffins in a 71-54 loss to the Marauders. Sophomore forward Leah Miller (Punxsutawney, Pa.)
had a strong first quarter (8 points) to give the Griffins a 14-13 lead after the first 10-minute frame. But Millersville University opened the second quarter with a 12-1 run that marked the turning point in the game. The Marauders took a 34-22 lead into the break and the Scarlet and Gold was never able to recover, despite Sebold’s second-half heroics. She scored 17 of her 20 points in the latter frame, hitting 5-of-13 (.385) from the floor and 5-of-5 (1.000) from the free throw line, while recording two rebounds, four assists, and a block.

Chestnut Hill College went on the road for the first time this season on Saturday, November 16, as the visited NYIT (2-2) for Saturday’s non-conference contest. The Griffins fought back in the early going, but NYIT were just too much from the perimeter, knocking down six three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to take a 35-23 lead into halftime. New York Tech extended its lead by nine thanks to stout defense in the third quarter, holding the Griffins to just nine points. The Bears finished the job in the fourth quarter to glide to their 22-point win. Sebold finished the affair nine points, three rebounds, and three assists.
