Sebold Secures CACC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
New Haven, Conn. - (2/3/2020) – Junior guard Cassie Sebold (Willow Grove, Pa.) averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game during the Griffins’ 1-1 week of league play to earn her third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll appearance of the season. She was 14-of-26 (.538) from the floor and hit all eight (8-of-8, 1.000) of her free throws in the process.
Chestnut Hill College (8-13, 7-5) started strong and finished stronger in Saturday’s (February 1) CACC contest as they led Concordia College (NY) (4-16, 3-8) by six points at the end of the first quarter, 23-17, and outscored the Clippers 33-14 in the fourth. At its conclusion, the contest settled in the Griffins’ favor; 88-77, thanks to 22 points from Sebold and a career-high 21 points from sophomore guard Morgan Orloski (Bethlehem, Pa.). Sebold was 2-of-6 (.333) from long range while adding seven rebounds and seven assists to her third 20-plus scoring effort of the season.
Earlier in the week, Chestnut Hill College fell just shy of its second comeback win over Georgian Court University (5-13, 3-8) this season as they dropped Wednesday (January 29) night’s CACC contest by a 75-68 score. In addition to 18 points, two rebounds, and three assists from Sebold, the Griffins were powered by a game-high 21-point effort from sophomore guard Lauren Crim (Warrington, Pa.) and the first career double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds) of sophomore forward Bri Hewlett (North Wales, Pa.).
